For days you have wandered around the world in search of wonder, and now, your search is over

for there is no other wonder than

the vixni...

Let me tell you the story of the vixni (pronounced vihx-nee). It was not too long ago when I was a wanderer such as yourself. I came across a gateway between the vixneas (plural for vixni, prounounced vihx-nehz) world and ours. Like you, I had no idea what these creatures were and I was completely clueless as to what their history was...however, that has all changed.

I became the guardian of the vixneas and protector of them--my name is Selene.

Long, long ago--when there was still magic in the world and the unicorns roamed freely--ancient creatures prowled the land...but none were as ancient as the vixneas. Before the unicorn, there was the vixni. They resemble part fox, unicorn, dog, and rabbit but you can never be too sure as to what they really are. A vixni is a creature all on its own. The vixneas lived amongst the ancient creatures in peace and harmony; all were gentle and kind. A vixni is never bitter nor cold in attitude: that is the way of the vixni. Despite that, a vixni will defend itself in times of need and danger. They are not completely defenseless even though they have such a gentle nature.

Magic was dying in the world as time slowly passed. People came to the world and men with wicked hearts started hunting the creatures of magic. Unicorns and vixneas were both endangered, though both of these species never did the people any harm. The unicorns were fast and quick enough to leave the world. They fled into skies and left no trace behind. Group by group, each species left the world for a new and better home. The vixneas were last to leave because a part of them wanted to stay. The Earth was their home and a part of them longed to stay even if it meant they had to die.

Selena, the immortal moon angel, did not want the vixneas to die. She came down to Earth and said to them "I shall create a place for all of you to live in until humans come and give you all better homes. This world that I make for you will reside in the stars in a new dimension not too far from the unicorns. You must never leave this world until you have found a caretaker and you may only leave on days when there is a full moon in the sky. On this day, the gate to your world will be open and people can cross over to visit. The gate stays open for 6 nights of the full moon and closes on the 7th night. The gate also closes when the vixni availibility count (shown above under the picture) reaches zero. When it does, the gate shall close until the next full moon and no more vixneas will be allowed out until then. I have high hopes that each one of you will soon find a good home. Until then, take care..." With that said, she sent them off into the Stardust Valley and over time, the humans have forgotten that vixneas ever existed...
